Williams Selyem

The nose exudes aromas of ripe blackberries, exotic spices, wild raspberry jam, black pepper, coffee and briary fruits. Particularly concentrated flavors of raspberry, blackberry jam, chocolate and coffee inundate your palate. Great acidity and round chewy tannins help balance the extremely ripe fruit. Concentrated and complex, this wine will drink very well into the future.

Wine Advocate

The 2005 Zinfandel Feeney Vineyard possesses a deep ruby color in addition to sweet, gamy, briery, peppery notes. With outstanding richness, surprising power for the vintage, and a lush finish, it can be drunk over the next 4-5 years.

Score: 92. —Robert Parker, December 2007.

Wine Enthusiast

Big, raw and frankly not really showing its best now, this young Zin needs time in the bottle. It has everything that it takes for two or three years aging, at least. Aromas and flavors of crushed pepper, fennel seed and cardamom spice up the blackberry, roasted coffee and bitter chocolate flavors, while the tannins are hefty, but negotiable.

Score: 91. —Steve Heimoff, September 01, 2007.

Wine Spectator

This is supple, balanced and juicy, showing raspberry, boysenberry, pepper and toasty licorice notes, with an appealing balance between the bright acidity and ripe tannins. Who says Zinfandel can't be elegant? Drink now through 2011.

Score: 90. —James Laube, May 31, 2007.
