Pieve Santa Restituta
Color: Deep ruby.
Aroma: Rich, complex aromas of ripe fruit (plums and wild cherries), violets and hints of cloves and tobacco.
Taste: Elegant structure and ripe, well-integrated tannins. This wine is normally more austere in youth than Rennina due to the slightly firmer tannic structure; but after 5-7 years, its depth and concentration lead to a complex flavor profile of great balance.

The 2001 Brunellos show the pedigree of the superior vintage. Gaja’s 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille is the more potent of the Brunellos. It displays a darker color along with notes of tar, smoke, spices, toasted oak and dark fruit on a full-bodied frame with terrific expansiveness and length on the palate. A lingering note of licorice frames the finish of this beautiful, deeply expressive Brunello. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2021.

Wine Enthusiast
A gorgeous single-vineyard Brunello from Angelo Gaja’s Tuscan estate, this wine is slightly more round and fleshy than Rennina but equally as complex and elegant. This is truly a great wine with velvet-like smoothness on the palate and intense black fruit and balsam aromas. It’s pensive yet yielding, refined and powerful all at once.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
