The stupendous aromas of the 2003 Echezeaux boast scents of cassis liqueur, jammy blackberries, and licorice. Medium to full-bodied and packed with roasted fruit as well as asphalt flavors, this huge effort is muscular, exquisitely ripe, and exceptionally long in the finish. Drink it between 2008 and 2017.

Tightly structured at this stage, with a core of black cherry, spice and mineral flavors, this has a sweet center and an outer coating of dense yet fine tannins. More reserved, it has freshness, balance and length. Best from 2009 through 2030. 50 cases made.

Full-bodied, dense and tannic, this 2003 is built for the long haul. Cedar, chocolate and plum mark the nose, then the palate. Firm yet plush on the finish. Worth holding until 2013 or longer.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
