Domaine de la Janasse
Janasse's traditional Châteauneuf du Pape is a blend of parcels and is contemporary in style. There is some destemming, but no fining or filtration.

Really packed, with lush layers of blackberry ganache and currant confiture, this just pumps out velvety fruit backed by a racy minerality and a range of exotic spices in the background. Long, pure and deftly balanced through the finish. Drink now through 2027. 100 cases imported.

Wine Advocate
The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape has a deep black/purple color and a sweet nose of charcoal, black cherries, raspberry, and some Provencal herbs and pepper. In the mouth it’s tannic and clearly a vin de garde with refreshing acidity, real vibrancy, but surprising power and length. As Christophe Sabon said, “It’s a wine that comes across as feminine because of the high acids and low pH, but then the finished alcohol is close to fifteen percent!” Give this wine 3-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following fifteen as it will be extremely long-lived.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
