Bouchard Pere & Fils

Very pale gold colour with green shades. Complex bouquet combining toasted fruit and mineral flavours. Fresh, rich and ample to the palate, with refined toasted hints. A very fine wine. Good with dishes accompanied by fairly spicy sauces.

Wine Enthusiast

Coming from a small 5-acre clos owned entirely by Bouchard Père, this a ripe wine, with wood dominating the aromas, but then allowing its spicy character to be balanced by delicious, crisp but ripe pear flavors. It is a rounded wine, offering full Chardonnay, kept in check by acidity.

Score: 92. —Roger Voss, October 01, 2008.

Wine Advocate

The 2006 Beaune Clos St.-Landry – a Bouchard monopole planted in Chardonnay for generations – features green tea, candied lemon zest, pineapple, and honey on a lovely nose and generously juicy palate, finishing with elegant, genuinely fascinating persistence of tea, citrus, and stony mineral elements. It should remain ravishing at least through 2012.

Score: 92. —David Schildknecht, December 2008.

Wine Spectator

A smooth, creamy style, featuring lime, butterscotch and salty, savory components. Beautifully balanced, with a long aftertaste of pastry and mineral. Drink now through 2012.

Score: 90. —Bruce Sanderson, September 30, 2008.
