Colour: Intense garnet red.
Nose: Rich, intense, fruity, blackcurrant, blueberry, aromatic herbs, spices.
Flavour: Full-bodied, soft, warm, sweet tannins, very long persistence.
Serving suggestions: Spicy meat dishes, cheeses, pasta dishes with meat sauce.
Wine Spectator
Ripe red fruit aromas, such as plum and blackberry, follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and a long finish. Tarry. A little mouthpuckering now. Best after 2012.

Wine Advocate
The 2005 Barbaresco Vigneto Loreto reveals greater richness and density than the Barbaresco in its ripe red fruit, licorice, menthol, flowers and spices. This soft-textured, generous wine offers outstanding length in a caressing style. Today it comes across as slightly more linear and delicate than the muscular Bric Ronchi. The Vigneto Loreto was aged exclusively in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
